About the artist:

In subjects ranging from Judeo-Christian iconography to Greek and Roman mythology, to his own literary work, ‘Era of Angels’,  an original cosmogony, Good’s intent is unwavering – to utilize aesthetics to engage the viewer emotionally and intellectually.

A devotee in the tradition of the Old Masters, particularly the Late Italian Renaissance and Mannerism, Good's innovative figures resonate with archetypal concepts in compositions filled with pathos and passion.

Good is recognized nationally for his featured shows and his public and private commissions.  His largest public commission to date, The Way of the Cross, can be viewed in Hope, Arkansas at the historic St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

In addition to commissions, Randall M. Good is available for art lectures, readings from his book project, 'The Era of Angels', and guest exhibits of his artwork.

Undercover Peace, by Missy Tansey Ormand (DHS '82)

3D Oil Sculpting on Canvas

20" x 24"

About the artist:

When life’s beauty and brilliance meet the canvas at the hand of Missy Ormand, the movement, texture and energetic blend of chromatic colors fill the room. Inspired by impressionists such as Degas, Van Gogh and Monet, Missy studied the technique of 3-D Oil Sculpting under Carrie Cameron (Garner) who is a protege of JD Miller, the creator of this artistic method.

Our journey through this world is full of new and unexpected lessons. Each time Missy begins her work she embodies the moment without boundaries. Most of her landscapes are seen only in her mind until they are translated to the now. More than just the sights she has seen, she creates splendor from her heart felt emotions and undying passion for life.

Throughout her life she has expressed her art through dance and writing until picking up the brush and knife 10 years ago. She has not looked back. Since then, her work has been displayed at the Celebration of the Arts in the Kentucky Library and Museum, Women in the Arts, Nashville’s Barely Legal and several local establishments.

"Looking Up," by Rolando Diaz

Item ID Starting Bid Bids Current Bid
44875 $200.00 0 $0.00

Winning Bidder

Winning bidders will be contacted after the in-person auction closes

You are bidding on "Looking Up," a print of original art by Dallas-based artist Rolando Diaz.

About the artist:

In the discovery of life we find ourselves looking for the things we can relate to.

It is this thought that becomes the basis for the work of Rolando Diaz, a native Cuban-American artist.

Diaz believes that "art is an expression of life." Everything we see, feel, touch, smell and hear, in one way or another, become part of the images expressed on the canvas.

Born in Havana, Cuba, to a Cuban immigrant businessman who fled an oppressive Communist regime, Diaz learned early that there are those who will go through life with little or nothing they can call their own. This thought has touched the heartstrings of the artist, who has traveled through cities in the U.S. and other countries, including Cap Haitian, Haiti, one of the poorest countries in the world, recalling and painting those images, and raising funds through his art for the poor.

Diaz travels internationally with his art to countries such as Africa, Brazil, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, Italy, Honduras, Guatemala, England and Canada. The experiences of his travels continue to bring him back to the original European influences in Havana. The island was once conquered by the Spaniards and the French. The Old Havana city is full of European detail. Its architecture, monuments, narrow cobble stone streets, palms and the ocean reflect the bohemian life style.

A documentary about Diaz, titled “Recapturing Cuba,” won two awards at the Sundance Film Festival and has been an inspiration to many people. Diaz has exhibited in museums, galleries and private homes, while maintaining a solid collector's list. He has also exhibited at the Grace Cultural Arts Museum in Abilene, Texas, The LA Thompson Gallery and Gallery 209, The Pace Collection, The Florence Art Gallery in Dallas, and several other places.

About Beauty Queens

Teen beauty queens. A “Lost”-like island. Mysteries and dangers. No access to emall. And the spirit of fierce, feral competition that lives underground in girls, a savage brutality that can only be revealed by a journey into the heart of non-exfoliated darkness. Oh, the horror, the horror! Only funnier. With evening gowns. And a body count.

About Going Bovine

All sixteen-year-old Cameron wants is to get through high school—and life in general—with a minimum of effort. It’s not a lot to ask. But that’s before he’s given some bad news: he’s sick and he’s going to die. Which totally sucks.

Hope arrives in the form of Dulcie, a loopy punk angel/possible hallucination with a bad sugar habit. She tells Cam there is a cure—if he’s willing to go in search of it. With the help of Gonzo, a death-obsessed, video-gaming dwarf, and a yard gnome who just might be the Viking god Balder, Cam sets off on the mother of all road trips through a twisted America into the heart of what matters most.

Libba won the Michael L. Printz Award for Young Adult Literature for Going Bovine.

About The Diviners

Evie O’Neill has been exiled from her boring old hometown and shipped off to the bustling streets of New York City–and she is pos-i-toot-ly thrilled. New York is the city of speakeasies, shopping, and movie palaces! Soon enough, Evie is running with glamorous Ziegfield girls and rakish pickpockets. The only catch is Evie has to live with her Uncle Will, curator of The Museum of American Folklore, Superstition, and the Occult–also known as “The Museum of the Creepy Crawlies.”

When a rash of occult-based murders comes to light, Evie and her uncle are right in the thick of the investigation. And through it all, Evie has a secret: a mysterious power that could help catch the killer–if he doesn’t catch her first.
